Tradescantia spathacea 'Silver' - Boatlily

Other members of this genus tend to be rambling scrambling, vining and twining but T. spathecea is not like the others - this plant grows upright! These are not difficult plants as long as they get sufficiently bright (but not direct) light. Allow soil to dry out slightly between waterings.

Boatlilies can come in a wide variety of colors and variations. 'Silver' is aptly named because of the gentle metallic cast that appears on the leaf surfaces.
